How acne cortisone injections work

Treatments usually last about 5-10 minutes depending on the number of lesions.
Length of results
Results are permanent, but there are a couple things to keep in mind. Just because the cyst has been treated doesn’t mean you will never get acne in the same exact spot again. In fact, most people who suffer from cystic acne will develop pimples in the same area. Also, the cyst can occasionally feel firm for up to two weeks after an injection, but that does not mean there was not enough cortisone injected. Remember, the injection simply reduces inflammation – your body still needs to absorb the cyst.
You can treat fresh acne as often as you like. However, we caution patients about repetitively treating the same areas and will advise you if an injection is not recommended. Injecting the same lesion again will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
